It’s been quite a journey for Christoph ‘Le French Kiss’ Le Friant (that’s Monsieur Bob Sinclar to you and me). His mid-90s Space Funk projects on Yellow heralded the emergence of French house music, and since then he’s continued to crossover, succeeding most notably with Love Generation last year. And he kicks off Western Dreams, his follow up to 2001’s Champs Elysees, with this pivotal track. Elsewhere, this year’s summer anthem World, Hold On features prominently, Tennessee with its steel guitars hints at the album’s title and Rock This Party re-works C&C Music Factory’s massive Gonna Make You Sweat in a dancehall style. And let’s not forget the devastating Amora, Amor. Also included is a DVD featuring not only his best videos but the making of them too.
