 Carl Cox is being drafted in to re-launch veteran dance music radio station Kiss 100 FM. From Sep 6, a new line-up of DJs and shows will be launched on the station, including a new series from The Councillor. He will kick off his two-hour Global show on Sep 8, and it will then run every Saturday at 2am. The show will be split into four parts; the Global Warmer, where Carl imparts his tune of the week, quickly followed by the Global Lowdown, a section focussing on a hot label or producer.
The Global Alliance slot will see a 30-minute mix from a guest DJ, with sets from Sven Vath, Jacques Lu Cont and Josh Wink already in the bag. Finally, proceedings will be wrapped up with Going Global, a snapshot of a recent Carl Cox set from somewhere around the world. The show, already syndicated around the world, rakes in an impressive 2 million listeners every weekend. ‘We wanted to build on Kiss's incredible heritage,’ reckons programme director Andy Roberts. ‘It's important that Kiss constantly evolves. I've already refreshed the music policy, providing a more optimistic and upbeat promise to the listener along with a new selection of presenters and specialist DJ's to come.’ |
