BT“In a hundred years, (This Binary Universe) could well be studied as the first major electronic work of the new millennium. It’s that good….” – Stephen Fortner, Keyboard Magazine, December 2005 cover issue

Initially known as the pioneer of trance music, BT has evolved into one of the most visionary artists and producers for a multitude of musical styles. Whether composing intricate scores with 80-piece orchestras for blockbuster films such as The Fast and Furious, Stealth, and the Oscar-winning Monster, writing and producing for Sting, David Bowie, or Peter Gabriel, remixing evocative epics for Sarah McLaughlin, Madonna and Seal or designing and creating cutting edge proprietary software tools from scratch to make it happen. Consistently balancing creative and memorable songwriting with sonic innovation and hand-designed technologies, BT crafts classically influenced, electronic overatures ringing with dense, living textures.   Painstakingly hand crafted, they are an industry sourcebook of new and often imitated signature techniques and ideas.  His epic albums, IMA, ESCM, Movement In Still Life and Emotional Technology give testament. This year BT is set to release not one but two new studio albums. BT’s first 2006 release is his 5.1 brainchild This Binary Universe - an album of surround-sound compositions like no other. Keyboard magazine says “Labels such as ‘ambient‘ or ‘modern classical‘ fit for a few seconds, then the next passage in the song blows away the last, taking any attempt to classify along with it. We can’t restrain our editorial opinion: This magnum opus is fine art, that works on every level, mind-bendingly deep but a pleasure to kick back and just listen to.“ BT’s sixth artist album (as yet untitled) has already begun to take shape with recording sessions in Australia and Los Angeles. A surprise list of collaborators including Stewart Copeland and others set the stage for a truly memorable return to the dance floor, what BT calls “my roots.”

BT has also extended his talents and business acumen to include television production, creating NBC’s reality hit Back to School, featuring Tommy Lee, which he both scored and executive produced.

“To marry melody, harmony and memorable songwriting with the most bleeding-edge technology possible is my passion. These are the things that excite me.” - BT
