GadjoIf a record does not become successful in a few weeks, you usually say it is a flop. But sometimes things are different… In summer 2003 “So Many Times” by Gadjo feat. Alexandra Prince has been released for the first time by the small, but well respected German house label “MuschiTunes”. The track found its way into playlists of several DJs – and it disappeared again. But then summer 2004 came and Erick Morillo, the most successful House DJ worldwide, spent the whole season on Ibiza. By a fluke he got “So Many Times” in his fingers – and he played the track in all of his sets. And he placed it at number 1 of his personal top ten charts. Soon different other colleagues of him discovered the song and followed him – it was found on the first position of top ten charts of Roger Sanchez, David Guetta, Tom Novy, Milk & Sugar, Seb Fontaine, Antoine Clamaran, Steve Angello and lot more. But Erick Morillo went one step further and licensed “So Many Times” for his legendary record label “Subliminal Records”. And at the end of this summer a new smash hit was born, which was played in nearly every house club all around the world. In the meantime there is no country, where the track did not strike like a bomb. First it reached #1 of French, Spanish and German dance charts, in Italy, Australia and South Africa people say it is one of the biggest house tunes of the last years and later on it entered sales charts on high positions in UK, Benelux, Scandinavia, Portugal and all around the world. The maxi-CD became mostly played dance track in the UK at radio (UK Airplay Charts youth format #1) and the top 20 has been cracked. A lot of high chart entries were following all over the world. The climax is reached with a nomination at the House Music Awards for “Best Track 2005” and a nomination at the International Dance Music Award 2006 in the category “Best House Track”.

Most people recognized Gadjo just some time ago for the first time, but he is an active producer and DJ since years. Like Boris Dlugosch, Moonbootica, Kid Alex, Disco Boys or also Knee Deep he is coming straight out of the House scene of Hamburg. After his first success with “Besame Mucho”, he produced the track “Punk City” together with Syke using the project name “De-Ranged”. This production was signed by “Southern Fried Rec.”; the label owned by Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. After the success of “So Many Times” Gadjo got a new studio, where he spends most of his time.  Results of this are different very successful remixes, which confirm his renown as a top producer. For David Morales he produced a great remix for his upcoming single “Better That You Leave”, for Basement Jaxx a new version of the classic track “Do Your Thing” (which entered the Cool Cuts Charts U.K. directly on No.1!), Future Funk got a new remix for their single “Wildberry Tracks”, Erick Morillo for “Waiting in the Darkness” and Big World for their latin house-hit “Me Gusta”. And Bush II Bush are looking forward to Gadjo`s remix for their upcoming single. At the moment Gadjo is working on several tracks for his own, among others there will be a new vocal house track briefly and also an E.P. with more club-related tracks, demonstrating his varieties.

Gadjo feat. Alexandra Prince and Gadjo as a DJ played countless gigs at the best venues the last months – at Pacha (Subliminal Sessions & Essential Mix Party) & Space (Closing Party) on Ibiza, at Cream in Liverpool, at Space and Nikki Beach (BBC 1 Essential Mix Party) in Miami, at Amnesia in Paris, MAD in Lausanne and in a lot of other clubs in Spain, Portugal, Russia, Austria, USA, France, UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, Russia or Switzerland.  In the last years only a few DJs from Germany had the change to become one of the international DJ Champions League. Gadjo is one of them – from his colleagues he gets much respect and the press is celebrating him and his productions. A new global player is born…
