 After 10 dates touring all Spain with the Workout! Spanish Tour 2008 together with Christian Wûnsch, there is no time to rest. Oscar is in the studio finishing the new release for Warm Up Recordings ref 021 Temptation EP. There is a new track coming out soon on Equator Rec, a new track on Tsunami Records, Execution according the schedule EP. A remix on the Emergence label, one track and remix on the new release of Evidence - EX004 under his alias trolley Route.
Good news is that he was listed in the UR chart on Beatport with the track Like I've Been Here Before released on Tresor and with the confirmation that he will play on may 26 in detroit for DEMF. There are some important dates coming up with the confirmation for SONAR on june 21, Australia on may 9 and 10, Awakenings with WorkOut! and Kozzmozz on june 28 and a special set for Monegros on july 12. Funckarma. The first outlet as Cane was on UK Warp Record's techno sister ARCOLA. Spanish techno dj Oscar Mulero, known for his eclectic style of playing techno music has been playing their stuff since. A Cane release on Oscar's Warm Up was the next step. The Invent EP offers cuts bound together with a steel spine of deep set percussion and pulsating rawness that is meticulous in its application and awesome in its conception. With a more straight ahead flavour than Funckarma's signature abstract polyrhythmic odd time signature grooves, the Funcken brothers, through their Cane moniker, provide a style shift into dance floor territory without abandoning their penchant for abstraction. Tweaking their systems utilizing the Devilfish on 'Chaotism', the Roland system 100M on 'Cations', and the rare but awkward RSF Kobol modular system on 'Invent' they have given birth to a intriguing creation reminiscent of recent works by Gescom, Surgeon and Regis, suiting Marguerita's '030303' series and Creative Space' SCINT EP perfectly |
