 Kevin celebrated a splendid start to 2008 with sell out DJ gigs at the fabulous Loft in Barcelona, Fabric London, Smart Bar Chicago, Shadow Lounge Miami, Session Club Bucharest, Flex in Vienna and Fabrik Madrid this weekend. January saw Kevin's "Detroit Connection" mix CD on Umek's Explicit label, featured in M8 Magazine's Top 20 Compilations of 2007, and the huge success of parts 1, 2 and 3 of his History Elevate series on Planet E/KMS are certainly reasons to be cheerful, particularly with Simian Mobile Disco’s reworking of “Big Fun” entering at number 3 in the Main Beatport Chart. With headlining appearances in the pipeline for this year including Fama Festival, Awakenings Festival, Apokalypsa Festival, Materia Viva Festival, Gatecrasher, Creamfields and the 10th Anniversary Summer Spirit Festival, and it's only February.
Already released collaborations with such luminaries in the studio as Carl Craig, Claude Von Stroke, Loco Dice, Joris Voorn, Samuel L Session, Simian Mobile Disco and forthcoming work with Luicano, Jesse Rose, Matthew Jonson plus many more, Kevin proves once more that he can bring together the cutting edge of new talent with his proven classic skills, and create something which sounds thoroughly fresh, with the class to have the kind of longevity that tracks like "Big Fun" and "Good Life" still enjoy.
I will keep you updated on the next editions of History Evelate, which are even more exciting than the first three, it's going to be a fantastic year for Kevin. He is back in the studio working on brand new productions which he expects will take a few people by surprise.
