 On november 10 2007 belgium will see another edition of I Love Techno . The final lineup includes the following artists: Underworld, Dave Clarke, Goose, Technasia, Miss Kittin and The Hacker, Digitalism, Rush, Trentemoller, Adam Beyer, Felix Da Housecat, Dr. Lektroluv, Ben Sims, Klaxons, Ellen Allien, Sven Wittekind, Mathew Jonson, Boys Noize, Marco Bailey, Erol Alkan, Redshape, British Murder Boys, Marco Remus, Stephan Bodzin, Felix Kröcher, Dj Ghost, 2000 And One, MSTRKRFT, Gui Boratto, Simian Mobile Disco, Len Faki, Elektonmike vs. Bernd Isaac, Cosy Mozzy, Monica Electronica.
YELLOW ROOM Underworld are this year’s headliners at . They put an unmistakable mark on the dance music of the past 15 years and have brought techno music to a broad audience with hits like “Born Slippy“ and “Rez“, an unprecedented achievement. Underworld will come and present their highly anticipated new album, “Oblivion With Bells“, which will be released about 2,000 days after their predecessor, “A Hundred Days Off“. During , the English duo will be flanked by both household techno names and promising acts. Trentemøller is the man of the moment. In the world of dance music, he has been on everyone’s lips for a year now. David Lynch is a fan and contacted him after he had heard Trentemøller‘s excellent debut album, “The Last Resort“, and the accompanying single, “Moan“. Will his films soon feature minimal techno and ambient house? Stephan Bodzin and 2000 and one have been hailed as this year’s revelations. Bodzin is from Germany and has recently released his debut “Liebe Ist“ on his own Herzblut label. 2000 and one is the alter ego of a Dutchman who has received props by such renowned DJs as Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos. After Underworld, the decks will go to a few techno heavyweights. Marco Bailey has been one of our best export products for many years, Ben Sims is one of the biggest names from the English scene and the Japanese/French duo Technasia delegate Charles Siegling as this year’s DJ. ORANGE ROOM In the UK, people come up with the craziest names for new sub-genres, from nu-rave to acid sci-fi punk. We just like to call it a new generation of producers and DJs who, inspired by the punkfunk of the 80s and the raucous techno/rave sound of the early 90s, have brought some fresh air into the dance landscape and have mixed the energy of indie-rock with electronic dance beats. Klaxons were soon became flag-bearers of the genre but proved to be much more than a hype with their debut album, “Myths Of The Near Future“. Justice and Goose were the dance success of the past festival season. With Justice’s debut album “†”, out on the hip Ed Banger label, France seems to present itself more and more as the most exciting dance country of the moment. But Belgium definitely stands tall. Over the past few months, Goose, who are signed to Skint N.B. in England, have been able to present their album “Bring It On“ to countries like Japan, Australia, France and England. DJs at your service are Erol Alkan, Boys Noize, Cosy Mozzy and Felix Da Housecat. Alkan was voted the world’s best DJ by the prominent Mixmag magazine, Cosy Mozzy is the man behind the Dirty Dancing club in Brussels and the album “Oi Oi Oi“ by Boyz Noize is one of the albums to look forward to this autumn. Felix Da Housecat will also introduce a new album. “Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco“ is preceded by the single “Something For Porno“, which is filling dance floors as we speak. RED ROOM This year, the Red Room will be administered by Dave Clarke and his White Noise radio show. Furthermore, Dave Clarke selected and mixed the tracks for this year’s compilation. After all these years, this techno pioneer is still a step ahead of the competition and is generally considered to be one of the very best. Clarke has chosen two reputed acts and two acts that are on their way to the techno top. Adam Beyer put Sweden on the map as a dance country and recently signed to Richie Hawtins’ Plus 8 label. With the British Murder Boys moniker, Surgeon and Regis combine live and DJ elements in a steaming techno set. Len Faki on the other hand is the man behind techno labels such as Len Series and Feis, and the mysterious RedShape will do a mix of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Dave Clarke also wants to create opportunities for the young and the talented. In cooperation with , he is setting up a DJ contest, the winner of which may open the Red Room. Stay tuned for more information. BLUE ROOM The Blue Room stands midway between electro and techno, 2 genres that, in 2007, are increasingly rubbing shoulders. In that way, there’s the reappearance of Miss Kittin & The Hacker who are performing for the first time together again in five years. The most remarkable newcomers are Digitalism and Simian Mobile Disco, two names that without a doubt will appear in most of the dance end-of-the-year lists. Simian Mobile Disco is the band of James Shaw and star producer James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons) and receives a lot of respect at the moment with “Attack Decay Sustain”. Digitalism already made the way with the club hits “Pogo” and “Zdarlight” and now sustains with the excellent debut album “Idealism.” Ellen Allien is also from Germany, person behind the Bpitch Control label, fashion designer but above all DJ and producer of electro and (minimal) techno. In addition, the gentlemen of electro duo Mstrkrft, ex-Death From Above 1979 and remixers of among others, Wolfmother, the Kills and Bloc Party, will do their thing behind the turntables. A familiar name is Dr. Lektroluv, who could be seen during the past summer at prestigious festivals such as Oxegen and Rock Werchter. Also the Dutch Monica Electronica is a guest in the Blue Room. GREEN ROOM True to its tradition, the Green Room is reserved for the somewhat rawer and harder sounding version of techno, also called schranz or hard techno. Master in the genre is DJ Rush who started his career in Berlin with the Kne’deep club nights and founded the booking agency with the same name. From the same household come Marco Remus, who recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of his Nerven label, and Austria’s Electronmike vs Bernd Isaac. New kids on the block are Sven Wittekind, who will present his debut album “7Deadly Sins“ live and Felix Kröcher, Raveline’s Best Newcomer of 2006. Our national pride, DJ Ghost, will close the evening. SWITCH ROOM The Switch Room provides the best possible comfort for the -goer. In this circular venue with large video screens, the sets of various headliners can be followed by means of live streaming. Moreover, there will be performances by two prominent minimal techno producers: Brazils’ Gui Borato, who debuted on Kompakt last year, and Mathew Jonson from the US, who recently founded his own label Wagon Repair. |
