 On Thursday 27th September the 10th Anniversary Edition of the DJ Awards will take place at Pacha, Ibiza. It's no big surprise though that Richard Grey, after his groundbreaking success with 'Warped Bass', is nominated along with Fredde Le Grand, 2ManyDJs, Mark Knight and Tiefschwarz. Richard Grey is still climbing the mountain of success and by now it seems that 2007 is already manifested as his year within in the international dance music scene. After his first bombastic show-up at this years Winter Music Conference (WMC) in Miami, the next step into the DJ-Olymp seems to be taken! But still, for insiders the nomination is everything else than a surprise as his massive bookings and breathtaking acts proof, nevertheless it's a great honour for the french mastermind.
The event is the first one that solely celebrates those DJs that influenced dance music globally. Up to now it's one of the most important and internationally acclaimed events and further on undoubtedly the hub of the dance music industry during the summer months. Besides that the event stands for a family reunion amongst the DJ collective that invested so much creative work for the sake of the industry. Past winners and their success underestimate the importance of the Award as such: Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Danny Tenaglia, David Morales, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox and many more enjoyed beeing elected by those who listen to and finally love the music they made. The public voting already started on www.djawards.com and will close on August 12th. There's also the possibility to vote via SMS this year, in conjunction with Dance4life.com, a charity set up as a direct response to HIV and AIDS amongst young people.
