 Two of Germany’s most respected artists deliver a stunning ep, which comes complete with a remix from Nic Fanciulli… With over 100 releases tucked under his Teutonic belt, 2 record labels (Kling Klong & Sessions Deluxe), a radio show and a full DJ diary Martin Eyerer needs little introduction – he is arguably one of the busiest veterans on the German scene. Perhaps best known in the UK for his work alongside Chopstick, he now joins Renaissance with a new acolyte in tow, Sessions Deluxe partner Stephan Hinz. The result is a 3 track EP that looks set to ignite dancefloors round the world.
Title track of the same name ‘Tucan’ is pure dance nectar, a smart blend of deep, grumbling bass that undulates and intertwines with an emotive riff, a hint of glitch and an incredible break! Plus, if that weren’t enough, Nic Fanciulli has stepped-up to deliver one of the best remixes you are likely to hear all year. He rounds out the sounds with a deep warmth, adds a pinch of disco and near-trademark percussive shuffles, which for those old or trainspotter enough to remember is reminiscent of his groundbreaking Westworld remix. Already finding favour with DJs such as John Digweed and Sander Kleinenberg, expect to hear a lot of this tune throughout the forthcoming Ibiza season. Last but not least we have ‘Apollo’, a rollercoaster soundclash of FX, bass and mid which will no doubt find a happy home in the dark, twisted hours of the weekend.
