Global UndergroundAli “Dubfire” Shirazinia—one half of the Grammy Award winning and four-time nominated electronic music duo Deep Dish kicked off of the Dubfire GU31 Taipei World Tour at Dragonfly Night Club in Niagara Falls, Canada on Wednesday, April 4th. With 34 dates already confirmed in the U.S and Canada, Dubfire will then tour Mexico, South America, the Far East and finally Europe through the summer of 2007. The North American tour supports the April 10th physical release of Dubfire’s solo mix CD debut, Taipei. Available now in digital format, Taipei launched to number one on the iTunes top dance music albums chart on its first day of release. The North American leg of the tour will take Dubfire through some of the U.S. and Canada’s most diverse markets - both large and small.

While Dubfire will be hitting large markets including Toronto, Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Vancouver; he’ll also be visiting his fans in places such as Niagara Falls, Hartford, Albuquerque, Columbus, Indianapolis, Providence and Kelowna, Canada. Overseas tour dates to be announced shortly.

Dubfire will celebrate the release of Taipei in New York City on Tuesday, April 10th with a series of special events. First, he will take to the decks of Virgin Megastore Union Square at 7:30PM for an exclusive in-store DJ set. Later that evening, Global Underground presents their VIP album launch event at infamous NYC strip club, Scores. Dubbed “Turntable Tuesday,” the event will feature a two-hour Dubfire DJ set and many other surprises. This is not your average party!

Dubfire’s eclectic new mix is the product of his diverse past and addictive music personality, and this mix is more about Dubfire personally and as a DJ. Dubfire’s mix was compiled with tracks that he’s both really into at the moment and that have also had a profound influence on shaping his love for music. Dubfire GU31 – Taipei is laced full of gems from a diverse lot including Depeche Mode, Carl Craig, Booka Shade, Extrawelt, Samuel L Session and Nitzer Ebb. However, the biggest surprise of all comes with Dubfire’s original production “I Feel Speed;” a cover of an obscure Love & Rockets song that, for the first time, features his own vocals!

“This mix is more about who I am, as opposed to Deep Dish. This is an extension of all my influences from day one and where my head is at currently. I’ve always been about pushing the envelope musically and anytime there’s a new sound, I’m paying attention.”
