 Oliver Huntemann’s creative activity, despite the huge effort he’s made in the world scene of techno and minimal, successfully passed me by until now. This German artist has travelled half of the world over the last 15 years, visiting also distant Australia and eccentric Brazil. And it is Sao Paolo where his newest compilation comes from. The ‘Play!’ album is the first instalment of a new series from Huntemann’s label, Cofused Recordings, and honestly, it would be difficult to imagine a better start. The record was recorded 100% live (seriously!) - you can even hear excited Brazilian people screaming and clapping their hands. Music-wise - beyond reproach; it’s a perfectly worked out reflection of one of the parties you shouldn’t have missed.
