One night in 1994, in the famous Parisian jazz cabaret "Chez Felix" Yellow Productions fell prey to the Brazilian charm of SALOME DE BAHIA. This proved to be an important encounter in the label’s history. SALOME DE BAHIA has been singing for 10 years at the heart of Brazil Tropical, the troupe led by Edvaldo Carneiro. This show sets 40 musicians, singers and dancers on centre stage to retrace the history of traditional Brazilian music in the region of Bahia. The exceptional and authentic timber of her voice made SALOME the ideal candidate for Reminiscence Quartet ‘s 1995 Brazil / Acid-Jazz/ Fusion album "Psycodelico". The project met with immediate success in the international underground scene, and the group was flooded with demands for live shows. In this same year, the collective opened up for Brooklyn Funk Essential at the Divan du Monde, Paris. They then went on to play at the Jazz Bop Festival in Brighton at the side of Terri Callier and Gilles Peterson. SALOME also had the honour of singing live with the Jazz diva Tania Maria, in different places around the world. In 1998, SALOME started to collaborate with Bob Sinclar for the "Sun Sun" compilation produced by Sony. On the track "Xodo", SALOME adds her flavour to House music. For another Yellow Production’s project in October 1999, Bob Sinclar and SALOME decided to transform Stevie Wonder’s "Another Star" into a stunning Brazilian cover entitled "Outro Lugar". This title is featured on the album "Bossa Tres Jazz". SALOME is a key artist at Yellow now. When Chris (aka Bob Sinclar) decided to produce Africanism, a percussive house project which involves some of the best French and international House producers such as Eddie Amador, Julien Jabre, or Martin Solveig, he immediately thought of SALOME DE BAHIA to collaborate with Dj Gregory on "Tourment d’Amour". This international club hit has been then transformed into a full song retitled "Tormento de Amor". SALOME DE BAHIA is now proud to present "Cabaret", her first artist album after an International career of 30 years. This album represents perfectly the musical world of Salomé, combining Brazilian music with Salsa, Jazz and Electronic productions. Let’s go to "Cabaret" tonight….
