SINGAPORE: I had never played in Singapore before and I was performing in a club called Zouk. It was fantastic, one of the best clubs I have ever played. It had amazing sound, fantastic interior design and a very up for it crowd. My set was a pretty big-room up-tempo rave house set. The Thirst Studio Singapore winner - Sam - was great, he did a fantastic track, and his set was very inspiring. BT was the headline DJ, and he had the crowd right where he wanted them, played a rocking minimal set with rocking slamming elements. I would love to come back to Singapore. especially as I unfortunately didn't get the chance to check out any other nightlife. I spent my time in Singapore in a mall tracking down a laser for a friend of mine who own a nightclub in Copenhagen, and an evening in the studio with Sam and BT. DUBAI: The Dubai Autodrome where we played was big and had cool decor and the crowd were great - 1. Had you played in Dubai before especially when GA played, they really showed their worth. I played the warm up set, building a bit groovy getting more electroish to the end. Soulwax's set was quite banging and techy. I never really got to know him Thirst Studio Dubai winner - Ali - but he seemed really nice. Our hotel where we stayed was fantastic - I have never been to a hotel where all the soup and shampoo was of the brand Bulgari! I didn't have enough time to check out the rest of the nightlife scene in Dubai and I spent most of my free time enjoying the nice hotel! So I would like to get the chance to come back to Dubai someday soon. ROMANIA: I had played in Romania before, as I was invited down to play for the last regional final. The final event was packed! The audience were great, generally speaking I think the Eastern European audience is among the best and most up for it at all... my respect! And Romania was no exception. I played an electro, hard and pumping set. I got on really well with the winners - George, Livio and Roby. Groove Armada, as always played a great set on stage, and with the great support of Mike and Pat! I love the underground club scene in Romania - Cluj is a great club. I only had a short time in Romania, but they have great food and very nice people, so I would definitely come back! HUNGARY: In Hungary I played a funky warmup and then closing set that was quite slamming. This was my first time playing in Hungary, the venue was great and so were the audience. The winners, Sunscreen, were great and I couldn't believe there were 3 headline acts! Groove Armada, De La Soul and Cold Cut - alll fantastic. After the Thirst Studio event, we went to several clubs after and partyed all night! That was a lot of fun - I liked the Pendulum club. I really enjoyed Hungary - somebody would have to stop me from coming back! |
