The trophy twins are one of house music’s rising stars. beginning their career djing in the north of england they are now recognized on an international level. they play shows all over the world from south africa to china, finland to dubai and of course ibiza as well as touring extensively at in the uk. For the last few years ‘the trophies’ have been developing their diverse and varied sound amongst the rising stars of the house scene. in 2003 they were announced as mixmag future heroes aside nic fanciulli and tom neville. As a consequence the trophy twins are no strangers at major events. performing a live mix for radio 1s ibiza weekend in 2004 to over 1 million listeners and performing at many other festivals such as global gathering, creamfields and one big weekend over the past two years. this year sees them return to manumission in ibiza and the ‘love leeds’ festival and debut performances at the v festival in stafford and the o2 wireless festival in leeds. ‘The trophies’ technical flair and cheeky way convinced the radio 1 bosses to enroll them into a specially selected team of djs that host the specialist dance show ‘the residency’ and then this summer to sign them full time to host a new show ‘the aftershow’ which will air 4-7am every saturday and sunday morning. During the past couple of years the trophy twins have also been very busy in the studio studio. working on various remix projects and original material led to them join the 24 management team and launching their own label Their debut release, 'anarchism' on global recordings gained heavy support from the likes of deep dish and steve lawler. ‘dutty rhythm’ was aired for four weeks consecutively by judge jules on radio 1 and was backed by jocks from tom neville to seb fontaine. “ill experience” on red recordings received big support by carl cox and pete tong. further remix work for red recordings – a label carl cox subsequently named his named label of the year 2005 - was championed by mark knight and tom stephan. ‘The trophies’ have also recently remixed armand van helden’s ‘when the lights go down’ - featured in music week and going top 5 in the dmc club charts - and olav basoski’s ‘waterman’. their new mix of ‘never alone’ by artificial funk was huge for everyone from tong to morillo, The pace does not appear to be slacking either as collaborations with chris lake and forthcoming remixes for renaissance and deep dish’s yoshitoshi label proove. future artist releases come via nocturnal groove and italian label cosmonote blue. the trophy twins future is very bright indeed!!
