 Fans across the globe have once again named Paul van Dyk as the World’s No.1 DJ for the second consecutive year. The Grammy nominated artist, composer, producer and political activist was announced as the winner at a ceremony held at London’s Fabric Club on Wednesday, October 25th. DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll, the most prestigious reference point for DJs around the world drew almost 250,000 votes from 235 countries, indicating that dance music is rapidly growing beyond its core audience.
“To be voted No.1 last year was a great honor, and to win it for a second time is very special,” Paul said. “I’d like to dedicate the award to all those involved in electronic music who make and play the records we love. The amount of votes in this year’s Poll is testament to the continuing strength of our scene, and that in difficult global times, our culture stands as a positive force in uniting people from different cultural backgrounds through music.” |
