Exciting things have been going on here over at Ovum. We had an amazing WMC and thank everyone who came out to the Ovum party in Miami. All the new Ovum releases caused quite a stire in Miami. The new Shlomi Aber is out now and causing quite a stir. The next Ovum release from D'julz was being played at all the parties and by all the top DJ's like Dubfire, Loco Dice, Steve Bug, John Digweed, and many more. It is coming out digitally tomorrow so go get a copy. The other big story was that Mr. Wink had a new single of his own and everyone wants to get their hands on it. Only a few copies were given out and the buzz is huge! Pete Tong has made it his Essential Tune and has played it 5 times on Radio 1!!!!! Anja Schneider has played it twice on her radio show and made it her #1 pick as well! So lots of exciting things on the way from the Ovum camp. |

It's great the way that the latest DFA warhead has hit home and struck a chord which has thrown up another disco revolution which veers away from the cliches and into the genuine soul of the underground which threw it out in the first place and continued through into the 90s with New York's sublime strain of deep house. This also means irreverence, hedonism and emotion translated into glorious, heart-hoisting love songs. The second single from the album features Nomi on heavenly vocals with Antony on backup. It's lush, lovely and soaring with classic early 90s riffs and subtly-pulsing groove which also recalls classic Inner City. This could explain why Kevin Sanderson has done the remix but unfortunately I can't report on that yet because I haven't heard it. They're obviously here to stay though. |
